‘Battlestar Galactica’ episode 4.04 recap

Battlestar Galactica, Media Alert!, Multimedia, Television Productions 1 Comment »

Finally, we have a proper recap of last week’s exciting and multi-layered episode of Battlestar Galactica, 4.04 “Escape Velocity”. After going some episodes without seeing even a glimpse of Caprica Six, it was most refreshing to see Tricia return to the role in this one. As usual, here’s our quick recap of the episode, please highlight to read:

Grieved by Cally’s untimely death, Galen Tyrol’s guilt has him spin emotionally out of control and he embarrasses himself in public by desecrating her memory. Tory, however, seems to have no scruples embracing her newly found Cylon self, and makes no implication as to her involvement in Cally’s death, allowing Tyrol to blame himself for the incident. Meanwhile, Saul Tigh finds himself strangely drawn to the imprisoned Caprica Six, not least because he envisions his dead wife Ellen in Six’s presence, and Tigh’s bottled-up guilt allows the two to bond in a unique way. Elsewhere, encouraged by the virtual Six, Dr. Gaius Baltar stirs intense religious debate in the fleet with his open declaration of belief in the one Cylon God, which has the impressionable Tory convinced of her “Cylon perfection”, much to the satisfaction of the virtual Six. As the debate heats up, the cancer-struck President Laura Roslin confronts Baltar about their past, present and future.

What a complex episode! Though I was expecting nothing less. Anyway, I’ve made some medium-res screen captures of Tricia in the episode, and they will soon be replaced with hi-res ones.

Don’t forget to tune in to Sci Fi for episode 4.05, “The Road Less Travelled”, which airs this upcoming Friday, May 2! Check out the episode’s promo trailer on YouTube (although Tricia fans will be disappointed to see she is not featured in the trailer - the upcoming episode seems to shift the focus back to the Demetrius-storyline of episode 4.03). And that’s all, folks!

Update: The medium-res caps have now been replaced with hi-res ones. Enjoy!

New TV project: ‘Burn Notice’

Burn Notice, Television Productions No Comments »

Exciting news! According to MultiChannel.com, Tricia has joined the cast of USA Network’s Burn Notice as “Carla”. From MultiChannel.com:

USA Network Thursday announced that Tricia Helfer, the sexy cylon “Number Six” from Sci Fi’s Battlestar Galactica, will join the cast of Burn Notice as “Carla” when the hit series’ second season debuts in July.

In the show’s first season, “Carla” was only known as the smoky voice on the other end of a vague, threatening phone call to covert-operations agent “Michael Westen,” played by Jeffrey Donovan.

The network said Helfer will appear in multiple episodes where she could prove to “hold the key to Westen’s burn notice.” Burn notices are missives issued by intelligence agencies to discredit or announce the dismissal of agents who are considered to have become unreliable.

The series averaged a 2.5 rating and 3.74 million viewers through the first six episodes in its debut season and will include 13 episodes this season.

Congratulations on the new project, Tricia!

‘Battlestar Galactica’ episode 4.03 recap

Battlestar Galactica, Media Alert!, Multimedia, Television Productions No Comments »

Once again, I hope you all tuned into last Friday’s exciting episode of Battlestar Galactica, episode 4.03 “The Ties That Bind”. Here’s our quick recap of the episode, please highlight to read:

The crew of the Demetrius, lead by the emotionally elusive Kara “Starbuck” Thrace, are feeling discontented with their mission to find Earth as Kara seems increasingly uncertain of its location, while Kara confronts Samuel T. Anders about their relationship. On Galactica, Cally, convinced her husband Galen Tyrol is having an affair with Tory, eavesdrops on a secret meeting of the three other newly revealed Cylons, only to find out Galen is one of them. As a result, Cally attacks Galen and intends to throw herself and her Cylon-human hybrid child out of the airlock, until Tory, risking her own life, convinces Cally to let go of the thought. However, as Cally hands over the child, Tory, becoming increasingly comfortable with her Cylon self, reveals her true nature and attacks Cally, whom she thrown out of the airlock. On the Colonial One, as a member of The Quorum of Twelve, Lee Adama begins to call to question President Laura Roslin’s authority, much to the dismay of the cancer-ridden Roslin. Meanwhile, in the Cylon fleet, the rebellious Cylons, headed by Six model Natalie and two Eights, negotiate a truce with the opposing side, the terms of which include unboxing the entire Three-line of Cylons. Cavil and his identical counterpart seem to agree on the terms, but as the line of Threes is supposed to be resurrected, the entire Cylon fleet turns on Natalie’s basestar, and with the Resurrection Ship being out of range, Natalie and her Cylon allies risk losing their lives in the confrontation.

Well, this episode sure raised a lot of new questions, especially regarding the Galactica- and key basestar Cylons. Hopefully, next week’s episode, 4.04 “Escape Velocity”, which airs on April 25 at 10/9c on Sci Fi, will provide us with some answers. Meanwhile, enjoy our hi-res screen captures of Tricia as Natalie in episode “The Ties That Bind”.
