Ahoy, Los Angeles fans of Tricia (and those who happen to be in the area)! Tricia’s official site reports Tricia will be making an appearance as a special guest monologist at the improv show Asssscat in Los Angeles (5919 Franklin Ave.) on Saturday, February 2! You can reserve your ticket(s) for the show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre official site at $8 apiece. From UCBTheatre.com:

ASSSSCAT, the Upright Citizens Brigade’s improv juggernaut that has played to critical acclaim and sold out audiences in New York City for the past ten years, has landed in Los Angeles. So what exactly is ASSSSCAT? Well, it starts with a group of improv comedians currently working in film and television taking the stage accompanied by a special guest monologist. Some guest monologists are talented celebrities, others are screwed up weirdoes. Either way, they usually have great stories to tell. We take a suggestion from the audience, then the show begins. The special guest shares off-the-cuff thoughts, feelings, and personal remembrances inspired by the suggestion. The improvisers in turn use this impromptu monologue as fodder for a series of high octane, balls-to-the-wall improvised sketches that have made this show one of the longest running improv shows in the history of the world.

I just got word that Robert Cuffley’s dominatrix crime drama Walk All Over Me, in which Tricia portrays Celene alongside Leelee Sobieski, will be screened a the Shadows of the Mind Film Festival in Canada. No word on whether Tricia will be attending the event or not, but the festival official site reports many filmmakers are scheduled to make an appearance, which may or may not include Tricia. Nor have the festival organizers announced any specifics regarding the date and time of the screening, however the event will run February 19-24 2008. A darkly comedic thriller laced with love, latex and empowerment. A small town girl, Alberta (Sobieski), struggles to control her fate when she takes on her roommate Celene’s (Helfer) identity as a dominatrix to pay the bills. It all begins when she meets Paul (Tierney), her first customer, who isn’t all that weird actually, but surprisingly young and attractive. In the midst of their strange, sexually charged role-play, they are interrupted by a trio of criminals who make it clear they aren’t leaving until Paul hands over the half million dollars they’re convinced he stole from them. When it becomes apparent that Paul is not going to reveal the whereabouts of the cash, the trio targets Alberta, thrusting her and Celene into leading roles in this dangerous game. Only Celene’s self-defense skills and Alberta’s adrenaline-powered panic allows them to overpower the team of criminals. When Celene is caught and held captive by the trio, Alberta has to find the courage to make the most difficult choice of her life.

We have a small project news update today. According to Tricia’s official site, Tricia has donned her voice to animated character “Black Cat” on the upcoming CW children’s show, Spider-Man (aka. The Amazing Spider-Man and The Spectacular Spider-Man). You can catch the series’ premiere on March 8 2008 at 10 p.m. on CW.

In Battlestar Galactica news, Entertainment Weekly recently picked Tricia and her two female Cylon co-stars Lucy Lawless and Grace Park as some of Sci-Fi’s Sexiest Aliens. From EW.com:

Cerebral villainy just doesn’t get any hotter than this robotic trio, who have been vexing humanity since their fellow Cylons wiped out mankind in an all-out war. (Okay, maybe Boomer isn’t a complete villain…but she has done some very bad things.)

Not much news on Tricia today, I’m afraid. However, AOL Television recently picked Tricia Helfer as the 31st Sexiest Woman Ever on Television, beating to the punch such names as Jennifer Garner, Katie Holmes, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ali Larter and Carmen Electra, not to mention her two other female Battlestar Galactica counterparts, Grace Park (47.) and Lucy Lawless (37.). She may be called Number Six, but this blonde bombshell is the Number One Cylon in our book. She slinks around the Galactica in short, curve-hugging dresses and is able to invade the mind of a powerful man to fill his head with sexy fantasies. That’s just plain hot.

Interestingly, Farrah Fawcett-Majors came in second on the list. Tricia portrayed the iconic actress in the NBC made-for-television drama film, Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of ‘Charlie’s Angels’, in 2004. The list was topped by none other than former Baywatch-star, Pamela Anderson.

Tricia is doing her share to promote environmental awareness and has launched TriciaGreen.com! The site is aimed at showcasing the progress of her and her family’s most recent environmental project - building a “green” house in the Canadian province of Alberta, where Tricia grew up as a child and teen. From TriciaGreen.com:

Let’s start at this basic premise. I know very little about “being green” and I am far from (and don’t profess to be) an expert on the subject. That said, I feel it’s time to start doing my part to make sure that my impact on the environment is minimized and if in my pursuits I can inspire others to do their part – then that will be very rewarding.

Tara (my sister), Jonathan (my husband) and I have created this site to chronicle the adventures of building a “green, off-the-grid” house in central Alberta where I grew up. We hope to share things that we learn along the way and hope that by sharing, others will be inspired to apply these techniques in their own lives. Everything that you see on this site is based upon something that we’ve considered incorporating into the Alberta House. Ultimately some of the technologies will be feasible and can be used, while others will not be incorporated into the design.

No names were mentioned, so I cannot guarantee Tricia will be attending, but it’s worth a shot if you know you’ll be in the Los Angeles area. From SliceofScifi.com:

What a pleasant surprise! Tricia has made her first event appearance in 2008, attending Casey Affleck’s L.A. Confidential magazine’s cover party in Los Angeles yesterday. I’ve only been able to find 5 MQ photos of her at the event so far, but I’ll add more as soon as I find them. Tricia looked lovely at the event!

We have an update on the upcoming theatrical release of Adam Green and Joel Moore’s horror thriller Spiral, in which Tricia stars in a supporting role as Sasha. The ‘Spiral’ MySpace Newsblog reports the film will get a limited theatrical release on February 1 2008 in U.S. theaters in Los Angeles, Portland and New York.

Unfortunately, there currently isn’t much information or media available on Tricia’s character. However, the film’s theatrical trailer available at MySpace contains a few shots of a lovely Tricia sporting a short crop, while the film’s official site features the film’s synopsis, cast and crew information and promotional stills and on set-media. Judging by the scarcity of available photos and trailer onscreen time and the fact that she wears the same outfit in all available media, however, I would say Tricia’s part in the film is rather small. The film’s DVD, to be released nationwide on February 19 2008, is already available for pre-order - check the film’s MySpace blog January 6th entry for a list of online retailers.

The film co-stars Zachary Levi, Joel Moore and Amber Tamblyn.
